The Uchronians made this. According to SFGate: "Measuring almost 200 feet long, 100 feet wide and almost 50 feet tall, Uchronia is one of the most dominating structures on the playa this year. Born from a conversation in a Belgian pub, creators Jan Kriekels and Arne Quinze, along with 90 volunteers, built the timber installation over the past few weeks in Black Rock Desert."

It'll always be the Belgian Waffle to me. We love you, Uchronians!

Thanks everyone! I really like this shot, but it was a bittersweet moment. It was the last night and the Waffle was the last thing to burn. What a finale, though. The heat was intense even from a couple hundred feet away.

This was my first Burning Man trip, and it definitely won't be the last. It's a photography paradise; the light is stunning from the moment the sun come up until the sun goes down, and after dark the legions of flashing, glowing, and flaming light sources makes the playa into an alien planet.

Beautiful photo! I LOVED this burn. The Space Cowboys had their Unimog out with the soundsystem in full force, so I got to hula hoop to good music while watching it burn, as a dance party happened around me....wonderful!
