Gbenga Akinnagbe's Liberated People Inaugural Pop Up Shop Event
On Thursday, June 13, from 7 pm until 10 pm, Liberated People hosted a physical pop-up event featuring eco-friendly shopping and cocktails courtesy of Stoli and Vita Coco, at the all new vintage boutique, Shirley + Alice (434 Marcus Garvey Blvd, Brooklyn, New York).

The inaugural event for Liberated People, a lifestyle brand that creates sustainable Eco-friendly t-shirts and accessories to commemorate freedom fighters that have inspired democracy and independence around the globe, brought together numerous shoppers and tastemakers from around the NYC area.

A portion of the profits from the new Spring 2013 Liberated People t-shirt on sale at the event will be donated to a local non-profit organization, Beat The Streets, to help them achieve their goals of improving the quality of life of their youth members.

The event was hosted by Liberated People founder, New York Times contributor, activist and actor Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Savages, The Taking of Pelham 123, Damages, Lottery Ticket, The Wire) and celebrity stylist (client roster includes Carmelo Anthony, Foot Locker and Carol’s Daughter founder Lisa Price) and owner of Shirley & Alice, Khalilah Williams-Webb.
