Tewet Tarn Sunrise

This image is a sort of follow on from the previous shot in my photostream. After I had captured the sunset shot, I waited until dark and then got some shots of comet Neowise, and the Milky Way. About 2 am I returned to the car to try and grab a couple of hours sleep. I can usually sleep almost anywhere, but this time sleep evaded me. Around 4 am I drove down to the nearby Tewet Tarn and parked on the country lane nearby. I took the camera bag from the rear seat and made my way through the fields as the eastern sky started to grow brighter.

I arrived at the Tarn, and studied it for a couple of minutes and made my way around to the Keswick side of the water. I set the tripod up whilst squelching in a peat bog and the cold dark water lapping at the top of my boots and watched the sunrise to the sound of the dawn chorus and an occasional car roaring along the nearby A66 road. Wellies would have been more suitable.
