The White Tree At Blue Hour
So I drove like a maniac after work today in order to make it down to Disneyland while it was still raining. After arriving, I placed a call to fellow flickr member Brett Kiger and his wife Carrie to let them know I was in the park as I wanted a chance to meet up with them while they were out here. They told me they would be right over, but after I hung up, I completely forgot to answer my phone for the next half hour. : - /
You see, it was right around that time that the weather broke and suddenly I was trying to be everywhere at once to grab a piece of the sunset through the clouds, to catch the reflections up and down Main Street, and finally to capture the spectacular Blue hour as I approached Town Square. I had already begun shooting the tree against the deep evening sky when suddenly the castle lighting music came on and everything went white. I think I must have fired off about 300 frames before I remembered that Brett was still trying to get a hold of me.
My bad. :) I finally met Brett and his lovely wife, and we both proceeded to shoot the wet park like kids in a candy store. Sadly, the park closed at 6 PM as the park closed early for the annual Cast Member Christmas Party, but we were both able to keep shooting until almost 7 PM before heading out. People usually look at me like I'm nuts when I tell them I LOVE Disneyland in the rain, but in terms of pure eye candy, Disneyland is easily at its most beautiful when it's raining. :)
