The Cannon On Calton Hill (Explored at #1 on 9/17/11)

(Moved up to #1 on Flickr Explore at 4:00 PM, 9/21/11. Thanks for the views, comments, and faves! )

This is the second in a series of shots from one of the most beautiful spots in Edinburgh. Calton Hill is covered with monuments, and I think I completely filled a 32 gig card while I was shooting up there.

"Calton Hill is the headquarters of the Scottish Government, which is based at St Andrew's House,[1] on the steep southern slope of the hill; with the Scottish Parliament Building, and other key buildings, for example Holyrood Palace,[2] lying near the foot of the hill. The hill also includes several iconic monuments and buildings: the National Monument,[2] Nelson's Monument,[2][3] the Dugald Stewart Monument,[2][3] the New Parliament House (the Royal High School[2][3]), the Robert Burns Monument,[2] the Political Martyrs' Monument and the City Observatory." - Wiki
