Rainy Night In Fantasyland
I'm still getting used to working with HDR, but I thought I would give this shot a try. This was taken on a rainy night a couple of weeks ago, just before Thanksgiving. I was shooting after the park had closed at midnight in New Orleans Square, and wanted to try and get Fantasyland before I left. As I headed up the trail by Big Thunder Mountain, a security guard approached me and said that Fantasyland was closed. Not being one to give up easily, I thanked him, went back down around through the area behind Rancho Zocalo, and took the side entrance to the castle. I knew that there had to be a few more folks in line for Peter Pan, and sure enough, Fantasyland wasn't entirely closed off. I set up my tripod and took shots as fast as I could as security was still around. In this shot, off to the left, there is a security guard in the shadows who either didn't notice me, or wanted to cut me some slack. In either case, I was grateful for a chance to shoot this area of the park after the crowd had left, seemingly alone in the rain.
Shot with the Tokina 11-16, 2.8.
