Of the many incredibly colored lakes in the Candian Rockies, I'd have to say that this Lake McArthur is my new favorite. The intense deep blue is jaw-dropping and unlike Morraine Lake, Lake Louise and Peyto Lake, much less encumbered by crowds of people. You'll have to get to Lake O'Hara in Yoho National Park BC, via a reserved bus on the 11km access road to enjoy this easy 4km and 400m elevation gain hike.
This was just about the optimal time of day (2:04 pm) for this photo as the sun started to set behind Park Mountain on the right. Also with the sun on my right I get the maximum effect with the polarizing filter.
