GAPP 2016 / Landshut 2
As we continued our tour through the historic city of Landshut, we began our assent up the steep stairs to the castle. Quite a climb in the heat of the sun, but thankfully there was a cool breeze! The outer curtains and fortress walls were impressive in their bold defensive stance. The high towers acted as sentinels overlooking the city it was designed to protect so long ago. The views were spectacular and the extensive ringing of the bells of Saint Martin's Church, added to the romantic feel of the city. As we left the city, the predicted thunderstorms began to appear on the horizon and caught us, as we were driving home with abundant rain and wind. The city was a great place to visit and would love to return again one day to explore further.
