The first lines of the Fasti Triumphales, the list of Roman Triumphs, from the Capitoline Museum in Rome. The Kalends of March was the first day of March, and would have also been the first day of the year in Romulus's time.

The Fasti Triumphales are a surviving inscription which dates from the time of Augustus, some 750 years after the time of Romulus.
