Ramsgate Wind Tunnel - Dodgems

Was really excited to be off on another adventure with Jamie this time venturing down in to the depths of the Ramsgate "Wind" Tunnels.

These tunnels are amazing, the main one runs for over 1500 meters and were built in 1863 to serve the Ramsgate Harbour Station and were later used during WWII as air raid shelters.

The signage was part of the "Tunnel Railway" that was built in 1936, also know as “The World Scenic Railway” you can see the sign and tunnel in use here - ramsgatetunnels.org/history.html

The tunnels were also used as storage by the local amusements on the seafront.
