Along the Tidal Basin
The last couple of weeks this past March kept me busy with some traveling. First was the annual ski holiday break, and then I hopped on a plane two days after returning home for a trip to the nation's capitol.
The main purpose for this visit to D.C. was to attend Photoshop World, which was held here for the very first time and my second time attending this conference. Extremely educational and inspiring, and it was time well spent with my brother. We spent an extra day after in order to explore the city ... something to eventually be posted from that day.
The 5 exposures used for the image posted here were captured during a photowalk held after the conference was finished and hosted by Jeff Revell, custodian to the PhotoWalkPro site and photography book author. The walk took us around the Tidal Basin which is lined by cherry blossoms. Unfortunately, rain and wind from the past couple of days knocked most of the blooms down ... slim pickings that evening. Still, we had beautiful light as we approached sundown and made the best of what still hung to the branches. Off in the distance and framed nicely by the tree is the Jefferson Memorial.
