14/365 (31st Jan) - PAD09 - Cottam Church - DSC_9007

Cottam Church, Holy Trinity.

Built on the site of Cottam Village's original church, it was finally abandoned in the 1930's, and is the only building that remains of the village. And with the red brickwork decaying rapidly, it won't be there much longer.

Photo taken on a frosty subzero morning on 31st Jan 2009, at about 7:40am. Fifteen minutes later and the gorgeous warm pinky light was gone, leaving a rather insipid lacklustre blue/grey sky.

For the techy bods, shot on a D40x, in RAW mode. Sigma 10-20mm lens at 12mm. Cokin NDx2 soft grad filter used on top of frame at a slight angle on left (the sky in the right was naturally darker, so it balanced out nicely) Tweaked in Nikon NX 1.3, minor tweaks in Photoshop.
