Excellent! You did a great job getting a shot of him. I'd probably have been so excited to spot him I'd have messed up the shot.

Nice. I once saw about three or four foxes near Paddington station in London. Apparently they follow the tracks to get into the city. I wonder where this guy goes off to?

Totally awesome. I'm a HUGE fan of red foxes. I once saw one in an apartment parking lot(!) in Cleveland Park, just sitting under a relatively bright light. Eventually he scurried off.

Samer: The foxes get spotted down by the golf course all the time. I've heard stories of them stealing golf balls while games are going on. They live somewhere on the course.

When I first spotted him he was outside the golf course, almost by the water on the Washington Channel side. He ran across the road, with me behind him (I was glad to see no cars were going by), and he went under the fence and onto the golf course. I got a couple of crummy shots of him outside the fence but was glad he paused for a minute and let me get these two while leaning over the fence. I hope he's doing well and makes it through the winter.

Mr. T - I wouldn't worry about him making it through the winter. He looks healthy enough (great fur, and check out that tail!), and--as far as I know--there's no trapping or hunting in Potomac Park. No predators either. For both of you, the biggest danger is probably getting run over. :)
BTW - This is a beautiful photo.
