Santralistanbul is a beautiful art space, which was a mission to get to, using one tram, a river ferry, one taxi and a short walk. but it was so worth it, we were lucky and unlucky the day we visited here as UVA's permanent installation was closed for works, (the reason we made the trip out of the city) but on the plus side there was a cool Martin Parr exhibition, (we knew this was on, but UVA was my draw) called assorted cocktail, which was the best from all of his work. classic, and some films by him that i've not seen before. great sense of humour. the other good thing was not only the building itself which is a refurbished power plant, but the chilled out Adidas bar and restaurant. which really confirmed the two sides of istanbul, and a much needed break from dodgy food.
