Paris #09 prescan

View from Passerelle Michelet over the Boulevard Circulaire, the Boulevard Pierre Gaudin and the Rue de la République towards a Residential unit.

From the la Défense Architecture guide (www.ladefense.fr/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/guidearchiuk.pdf):

Containing both housing units (530 apartments)

and offices (12,000 sq.m), this star shaped complex

of 3 buildings has a structure which frees up the

floor slabs. Each apartment has flexible, adaptable

partitioning. Xavier and Luc Arsène-Henry have

used their material of choice, white cement, for

the supporting panels which cover the façade.

These panels, which are fluted to drain water from

the façade, highlight the effect of verticality initiated

by the superimposed windows.
