The Fading Fourth

EXPLORE; Explored July 6, 2012.

The aftermath of most Holidays is always a letdown to me...I guess it may be to lots of other folks too. There's all of the buildup and anticipation of the event; the all too brief time of enjoyment; then the cleanup and it's back to the routine. Kind of depressing sometimes even if the routine one returns to is a palatable one.

So this rose seen in last night's twilight's last gleaming kind of summed it up for me...a faded rose -- faded light -- a faded holiday.

And the world spins on.

While not technically great this shot nonetheless speaks to me. Shot at ISO 3200 (yeah-uh!) the grain (okay, noise...I'm an old film user and I still want to say ASA sometimes instead of ISO) is acceptable for the shot.
