Bright sunshiney day
An early, early morning shot of the woods as the sun is just breaking the sky? NO...LOL!
This is shot in the pitch black of night, and I do mean the pitch black of night: No streetlights, no moonlight (we're coming up on a new moon as I shoot this), no house or yard lights; no flash; no light painting; DARK! I had to make my way around with a flashlight!
ISO 1600, F4, and a long exposure of about 2-1/2 minutes.
The camera does lie if you want it to! (And sometimes, if you don't.)
Go try it yourself...the better your camera and the faster your lens the less exposure you'll have to give the photo, and if you have a really good camera and a fast lens you can shoot in the dead of night and it will look like noon! The colors will be correct and everything, and with a good camera and fast lens there will seldom be any noise or artifacts! Isn't that wild? :)
