Day before the "Blue Moon"
Still image captured with a Canon EOS 40D, ISO 100 and 1/160th sec.
Here's a video captured at 1600mm (Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Tokina Doubler), ISO 100, 1/60th sec. and 1920X1080P 30fps: VIDEO
A seemingly rare lens, the MINOLTA RF 800mm 1:8 Catadioptric lens (Google it and you'll see what I mean; in fact, the few hits you do find are of this actual lens). The lens was manufactured circa 1981. The lens shown here is complete with the exception of the lens cap which I'm currently re-upholstering due to de-lamination of the original covering material.
I non-destructively converted this lens to Canon EOS EF mount using an M39-EOS adapter. The M39 inside threads of the mount was a perfect thread fit to the stock screw in filter which I understand is required for the optical formula of this lens. The lens is fully reversible back to it's original RS Minolta mount. Sample shots and an HD video tour are forthcoming.
