A shoal of Neon Flying Squid
Ommastrephes bartramii (commonly known as the neon flying squid, red flying squid, akaika, and red squid, among other names) is a species of large flying squid in the family Ommastrephidae. They are found in subtropical and temperate oceanic waters globally.
Neon flying squid are cosmopolitan, being found in subtropical and temperate waters of the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans.
I saw shoals of these Squid in in the Indian Ocean every day for 7 days as we cruised from Perth, Australia to Mauritius
