I added the star washer between the receiver and mounting foot for some added bite. My goal was to keep the foot from slipping under the weight of the flash when it is mounted at an angle. If you do this remember that the plastic is pretty soft and the washer could tear it up. I went with a fairly mild star washer--the type with the ring around the outside seem to be a little less abrasive. Pick one up and you will see what I mean. Also notice the black bar at the bottom--this was shot at 250th, so the eBay triggers don't appear to be able to keep up with my Canon 30D's 250th flash sync speed--I can live with 200.
