Dunes of Morro Bay, California Central Coast

The wild protected dunes of the central coast are shaped by wind and sea. Shorebirds next and breed here. Rabbits, otters, snakes, insects and so much more.

It can be very cold and foggy in the summer and more often clear and sunny in winter and fall. The weather is changeable hour by hour. Just north of here is the wild country of Big Sur and a few hundred feet to the south is the giagantic Morrow Rock.

Seen in this set or a few photos before this one. One of my first California adventures was hitchhiking up the coast. I was dropped off at night where i slept out under the stars in the dunes. In the morning I was greeted by a large jackrabbit a chorus of seagulls and the fog lifting over the amazing Morro Rock. It

was a day this man from the midwest will always remember. Blessings.
