Colour Creek Reflections, California

A visit to a local canyon after a right of rain was a perfect time to wander around and catch the changing leaves in all their glory. I was always in awe and inspired by the photography work of Eliot Porter, a master of light, color, and beauty. This image reminded me of some of his eary images inspired by Henry David Theroreau and his Walden Pond writings. If we but sit still and study one little corner of our universe that is so much to see, learn and appreciate. A month after I took this it was a dry creek bed with only mud and stone and bare limb while oak and elm trees. Still beautiful but in a totally different way. Blessings and good will to all.
