Reflections on Lake Alpine, CA

At 8,000 feet high this alpine lake is a jewel of the Califonia mountains. Off of little traveled route 4. Its a winding highway to paradise. There is a nice campground and the fishing resort across the street has good meals too. Stay a while and take a walk, kayak, canoe and bliss out on the peace and quiet and fresh pine scented arit. Too cold for swimming unless your a dog but great for photographers, painters, kids skipping stones and in the evening you won't fine any better landscape to sit and contemplate while you roast your marshmellow over smoky camfire. Snowed in for most of the winter its a secluded place that will make you young at heart and wiser for having visited.
