The Fiji Mermaid Theater

This is a piece with parts I have been working on for ever. The shadow box was originally green, the mermaid had different head, wings and no wand. Then it all came together. I used the head from one of my watercolor paintings and placed onto the mer-bee body/fin. Added the wings and a clay and wire candy wand. The background was designer paper with hand painted candy lollipops.

I added trims, crepe paper, chenille, tulle, flowers, glitter and more.

I haven't decided what to do with this yet!

"Lemonade anyone, just 5 cents a glass!", "Lollipops and cherry sundae's, 25 cents!" "Get your kettle corn in fruity flavors for only 15 cents a bag!" All the vendors at the Olivander Poppywig Circus are shouting out sweet deals to entice customers into buying one of their delicious treats, while posters of The Live Shows held in the Theatre are tacked all over. But many are over looked since tonight is the main event, The Fiji Mermaid and The Sea of Lollipops Show begins at 6pm and 8pm, it will be held in the main theater tent toward the octypus princess tank.

Adeline Montgomery is the star mermaid of the show. Adeline is actually a runaway Princess from a small little town called Carlight, deep in the heart of New Zealand, Adeline ran away with Perthy Poppywig, son of the great Olivander, during holiday and hasn't returned since. She loves the circus and performing as the fiji mermaid. Stay tuned for more of Adeline's tale!
