Does he not realize he is comfortably apart of the 1%?

    5. LaBostella 42 months ago | reply

He's not! Let's not give people the idea that this movement is against people who succeed in life, because it's not.

Many in the 1% support the 99% in this crisis, which obviously affects everyone. By the way, many Canadians don't seem to know that Tommy Douglas--the great Canadian crusader for a social safety net and an architect of humanitarian political and economic policies now being eroded by Harper--was Donald Sutherland's grandfather. His whole family has deep roots in a belief in economic fairness.

Even still that just makes him a Champagne Socialist, he makes a lot of money ask him to live off 150k a year I doubt he'd ever do it, after all you have to make over 200k to be apart of the 1% in Canada. I see far to many occupiers tweeting on their iPhones in their Lululemon hoodies about how expensive school is and how indebted they are.

@Hyde_Seeks With respect, that's a simplistic argument. Just because you make decent money doesn't mean you don't want economic fairness for others. You don't have to pick cotton to oppose slavery. Your argument is rife with logical mistakes. If he were a multibillionaire thanks to banking pyramid schemes, it might be a different story, but as it is, I think we want his type of 1% allying with the 99% here.

So just because I am not currently living in a warzone should I not want for peace, or just because I choose to homeschool my kids should I therefor not attend protest/rallys for improvement of education? and I have an iphone and you know what? it came as part of my mobilecontract that I need because I am selfemployed and the type of work I do. And I have brand clothing that I buy for a couple of quid in the local charity shop. Might be better not to judge unless you have walked a mile in someone elses shoes.....

What the nation's built on is discussion, contradiction and growth, and at the moment you can't discuss anything. If you do start to discuss it, you get criticized. If people hate us, you have to find out why and try to solve that problem.
