Firestone Presents Your Favorite Christmas Music, Volume 4
From 1965. There are some big names listed in the upper right, but don't be fooled, this is mostly The Young Americans. Relatively bland. It would be fine background holiday time listening if it was in better shape.
This record did clear up a little lyrical mystery for me. One of the two Julie Andrews tunes on it is "I Wonder As I Wonder". When I was a kid, we though the line "How Jesus the Savior did come for to die/ for poor ornery people like you and like I" was strange and kind of funny because we didn't think of ourselves as ill-tempered and hard to get along with. Turns out, from the printed lyrics on the back ornery is actually "or'n'ry" as in a shortened for of "ordinary". That makes a lot more sense.
