On The Move
Countdown Day #8
Wow, in 1 week, I'll be all packed up and ready to go ... yeah, that'll be the day! More like, in 1 week, I'll be panicking while last minute packing ....
Really getting excited about the return to AK and especially for the bears. When we observe and photograph them in the wild, I can't help but feel that we get to know them - OK, perhaps just a bit, but it's a definite feeling that I get. I totally respect their presence, their home, and their tolerance with allowing us to share it for the time that we spend together. I always wonder, if no one was visiting them one day, do they wonder where we (not me, but humans) are? OK, I know I'm a bit nuts, but I do think about those kind of things.
This image, taken in 2010, was this beautiful sow, who passed in front of us as she traveled to the shore of Katmai (we were in the tidal pool area). She was so beautiful and fascinating to me. She did look once at us, but pretty much passed by unfazed by our presence. Such incredible animals!
Thanks for stopping by to view and especially for all of your comments. Will be catching up a bit on everyone's photostream this weekend, so bear with me (no pun intended) - LOL.
