The Time To Shine
Well, this weekend has been much different that my last, so I decided to take a break from the crocodile images and share something much more pleasant and easier on the eyes.
As many of you know, my daughter is about to be married in the upcoming few weeks. She is in town visiting us this weekend and many of her friends and extended family are in town too, for this weekend was her bridal shower and bachelorette party. The weekend events were hosted by her 2, equally important, maids of honor. We had an amazing get together yesterday at a sushi/thai restaurant on Las Olas Blvd in Ft. Lauderdale. The day could not have been a more beautiful one and our afternoon was filled with reflecting upon special moments in Kelli's life, looking forward to the many moments and memories that are yet to come, laughter, friends, food (especially the amazing desserts that these girls whipped up Friday night - I was totally impressed!), and of course, lots of clicking of the cameras to document it all.
Oh, almost forgot, we also had a special real live parade to celebrate the Kelli's special day .... oh no, actually I think it might have been for St. Patrick's Day ..... who knows..... :-). Why do they celebrate St. Patty's Day an entire week early? LOL
I'm quite excited about the wedding coming up .... faster than I think I'm ready for (yikes, I have no shoes yet! and I'm not thinking that my hiking boots will work).
Anyway, I chose this image today, taken last weekend also in Eco Pond in the Everglades NP, for a few reasons. First, there are 3 roseates represented here - all beautiful in there own right, but one clearly, at the moment, the focus of attention. Just like the bride and her two maids of honor. Second, these birds are just so beautiful and seemingly in their prime of life. Each the same, yet slight differences that make each unique and special. Lastly, the harmony of these birds and tranquility that I felt when I was taking this image. That is what I wish for Kelli and Mitchell, along with the confidence to be their own and surround themselves with good company - family and friends alike - enjoying the good times!
Hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Here's to more hours of daylight and many more photo opportunities too!
Thanks for stopping by and for all of your comments!
