EXPLORE Highest Rank #52

7 days & counting ......

While Yellowstone & Grand Tetons NPs are truly spectacular and the "destination" when we travel out to that area, there is much to see along the way. This shot represents one of the many interesting shots we pass on our journey.

In Idaho, not too far off the side of the road leading to the park, one crosses Birch Creek. From there, the sight of an old broken down wooden bridge crossing the creek is viewed. It is a beautiful area, especially when covered in snow, with a sprinkled in mixture of ice running through the creek. What a picturesque shot it makes as one can't help but wonder about the history of the area.

Much of Idaho is composed of big wide open spaces - or so they appear under the winter's deep blanket of snow. I kept thinking about that B-52's song about living in "your own private Idaho". LOL.

I had never much explored Idaho, usually arriving from Bozeman when I visited the park before, but I'm glad that we did. What a beautiful place it is!

Next week at this time we will be driving into Yellowstone NP and we're growing more excited by the moment.

Thanks for your comments and visits to my photostream. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
