Denali, aka Mt. McKinley, lies within Denali National Park, but on a clear day can be seen from many miles from the surrounding areas within Alaska - even 4 hours away outside the airport. It's North America's highest mountain standing a proud 20,320 feet tall - that's almost 4 miles high! Many people flock to Denal NP to see it's enormous peaks, but less than 30% of it's visitors actually get to see the mountain due to the dense cloud formations which usually surround it. For us, we've visited on 3 different years and have beaten the odds - seeing it quite well on 2 of the 3 years.
We've seen it from many different angles, locations, from the air (summit flight) and from the ground - it doesn't matter how you see it - it's simply stunning! It's size, difficult to comprehend.
When you wake up to a sight like this, you know that it's going to be a good day!
