Up close to a lilac Bearded Iris flower - 20121009

I photographed this flower in the grounds of the Brassey of Canberra. I spoke to the gardener, and he is very proud and protective of the gardens - rightly so in my opinion. I thought that the bright sunlight would make it difficult to get good photos, but the light filtering through the standards and falls gives this shot a nice glow.

Camera - The native Camera app was used without the HDR option.

Snapseed - Straightened and cropped the image.

iResize - Resized the image to 1936 x 1936 pixels.

Filterstorm - Selected, cropped and flipped a portion of another photo of this iris flower.

iResize - Resized the image to 1936 x 1936 pixels.

Superimpose - Replaced a small portion of the working image (Foreground) with the Filterstorm output (Background) using a mask.

TouchRetouch - Retouched several blemishes and some edge artifacts from the masking process.

PaintShop Pro X5 - Digital camera speckle noise attenuated (60% fine and large scale, 60% blend). Smart Photo Fix applied with manual settings.
