Bonsai - Banksia integrifolia (Coast Banksia)

Australian natives are rarely seen as bonsai plants, and I was surprised to see this coast banksia. It is one of the plants that are cared for by Leigh Taafe (Ledanta Bonsai Nursery) and hired to businesses to adorn their offices. This one certainly provides a tranquil and dignified aura to the reception area at Zoo Advertising.

This specimen is actually a bit of a media star - it was featured and photographed at the 2006 'Australian Plants as Bonsai' exhibition held at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. The web links are given below if you want to see what this plant looked like 6 years ago in 2006!

iPhone 4 - Photograph taken using an iPhone 4 with the native Camera app without using the HDR option.

AntiCrop - A strip along the right hand side of the photograph was added so that my preferred square-format image composition could be obtained.

Snapseed - Image straightened and cropped. Overall and selective lighting adjustments applied.

Photo fx Ultra - Round, black vignette added.

Camera+ - Thin black and wide white borders added.

Paint Shop Pro X4 - Digital camera speckle noise attenuated (80% fine, medium and large scale, 60% blend). Final lighting adjustments applied.
