Bonsai - Banksia integrifolia (Coast Banksia)
Australian natives are rarely seen as bonsai plants, and I was surprised to see this coast banksia. It is one of the plants that are cared for by Leigh Taafe (Ledanta Bonsai Nursery) and hired to businesses to adorn their offices. This one certainly provides a tranquil and dignified aura to the reception area at Zoo Advertising.
This specimen is actually a bit of a media star - it was featured and photographed at the 2006 'Australian Plants as Bonsai' exhibition held at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. The web links are given below if you want to see what this plant looked like 6 years ago in 2006!
