Latest Moleskine Met Its Birthplace

    Newer Older

While in Paris for business, I marked on my Paris City Notebook a specific birthplace of Moleskine - Rue De L'ancienne Comedie so that I could visit when I got a chance. I was there finally!

Two features on this city notebook will get all fans most excited:
    1. Pen Clip: designed by Stefan Diez, produced by Authentics.de
    2. A Paris underground 3-days pass, which came with a nice plastic pocket just fit for Moleskine using a money clip. The plastic pouch is so nice it has 3 pockets of different sizes, the smallest holds the ticket (also hold Japanese train ticket as well coz they are similar in size), the medium can hold business cards while the largest pocket can hold ... anything!

Wow - showing your [City] Moleskine with the Rue plate behind it is such a brilliant idea! (Now why didn't I think of this? LOL)

Great to know that you made the "pilgrimage" :D

BTW, that plastic pocket is cool - perhaps much more convenient than putting your metro carnets in the back pocket of the notebook (which I used to do during my stay in Paris).

Yes, songlines, I found that the back pocket is a bit clumpsy, so I always try to make something on the outside for temporarily storage and easy access. The back pocket is usually used for storing stuffs I'd only need to pull out at the end of the day.

Wow, Patrick. love the Holga shots as I am an owner of one as well and also a few polaroid oldies, and my fun pop9.
Where can I find out more about your 'smart pens' as well as the nifty metal pen holder you have for your moleskine?
      Danke danke

      Hi pweathersp4,

The smart pens can be found under the Aquila brands company here:
      www.aquilabrands.com/smart/smart.html
I'm not sure who is selling in other places, coz it was new arrival at the end of 2006 (I saw the pen first in early 2006 during paperworld).

As for the Penclip, I saw it in paperworld Jan 2007 and bought my piece at a retail store in Frankfurt. I'm sure there are retailers buying this for their stores but it hasn't arrived in Asia yet. The manufacturer is Authentics (http://www.authentics.de/). You may want to send them a mail to ask coz I don't know any places in USA selling it yet.

Is there any old bussiness in rue de l´Ancienne Comedie where the Moleskine place could have been?
