Rare large Lu Klopfer artist wall ceramic, design dated 1950s, origined in studio Johann Lipp. Picture motif: women with basket. Glazed with the Klopfer typic intense color field technique with sgraffito framing. Beautiful Lu Klopfer art work!

Lu Klopfer (1924-1977) exceptional German art ceramist. From the early 1950s he worked as artistic director at the ceramic workshop of Johann Lipp in Mering. Influenced by the ceramic works of Richard Bampi / Kandern and by Japanese pottery aesthetic he designed shapes and decors on high artistic level and great technique perfection. His strenuous search and experiment for new forms and glazes resulted in outstanding master ceramics of deep beauty.
