87th Street in Kansas City

This is a textbook example of how a bicycle lane at an intersection with a right-turn only lane should look.

 

The similar situation at 87th Street and Blue River Road should be re-designed to look and work more like this intersection. Note the dotted lines at the point where the bicycle lane crosses with right-turn only traffic, and the "bike slot" to the left of the right-turn only lane.

 

This is the intersection of 87th Street and an un-named industrial entrance/drive just to the east of Blue River Road.
