Albino Whitetail Deer Let's Dance

    Newer Older

After many years of seeing and taking pictures of the wild albino whitetail deer I thought I had seen it all but I was wrong. Suzy and Kicker the Albino whitetail deer sisters were walking down the deer trail side by side on a bright sunny afternoon. I always try to be ready for whatever they might do and have my camera on rapid fire 6 frames a second, but being wild animals everything happens so fast that you miss many opportunities. I noticed that they were getting irritated with each other and all of a sudden they both reared up on their back legs and tried to impress each other by dancing around on their back legs to show who was the dominant one. They stood up for only a couple seconds but I was able to capture several amazing shots of them as they danced around each other. These pictures were taken with a Canon 50D with a 100-400 zoom lens at 1600th of a second. I was lucky there was a real dark background with all the sunlight on the two white deer that the exposure turned out perfectly. All the many hours I spend trying to get photos of these amazing and rare animals is time well spent. Here are four photos of this amazing display. And by the way OMG was said many times as I took these photos.
