Memorial Stadium renovation and seismic retrofit

    Work is well underway on the $321 million renovation and retrofit of UC Berkeley's Memorial Stadium. The stadium, which hosted its first football game in 1923, is situated directly on top of an active earthquake fault, necessitating a major seismic upgrade. The stadium will also be modernized during this construction, and seating capacity will be reduced from about 72,000 to about 63,000. The project is scheduled to be completed for the 2012 football season.

      Thanks for the update. Going to be such a great place when finished. I hear the 49ers are getting a new stadium too!

      Glad you sent the link out to your pals. I take these aerials cause they shed light on subject matter I want to see from above. I find it gratifying when other people find them worthy of attention too......
