I saw your journal on DA and this is just plain wow. Fun thing: One can see you in the reflection of the cat's eyes.

Impressive. You just sold a camera for Nikon. I'll make sure you get the credit.

thats crazy sharp, and very tempting... I own a canon 40D, I sent it to canon for a shutter button issue, it was binding when you pressed it.. anywasy it came back with a 3/4 inch gouge out of the body.. through the paint and about a mm into the magnesium. i was so upset. all the rubber around the body was not sticking. all the corners were lifted. and they even scratched up the top info LCD. i could not beleave it.. anyways i wrote a 3 page letter to them saying it was totaly unacceptable. i even had pictures of the 40D before i sent it in.. because i don't trust ppl with my expensive equipment. so i sent the letter along with the camera back to Irvine, CA 2.5 weeks later i get it back. i open it up all excited to have it back. and whatd do you know its got a different mark in it now. there was a big chip in the pain on the sharp edge by the Canon logo. all the rubber was untouched. and the top info LCD at the top was totally misaligned so it looks awful. they put a new top cover plate on the camera along with a new shutter button and the LCD cover. Even the paint on the new panel doesnt match the other paint its so much lighter then the old.. I check the letter and the CD i sent with before and after shots. this CD was unopened the letter had the first problem highlighted. that was the shutter button. the manager new to fixt the 3/4 in gouge. so they didnt bother to look at the pictures nor did it look like they read the letter. I was so upset, called canon. talked to a lady. she said shell look into it and find out. i had a long talk with her. saying this is beyond wrong. all you are doing to my 40D is making a hatchet job out of it.. and i really don't want it back if i send it to you again. i want a new body. i'm not playing games with this.. send it in to get one thing fixt at a time.. 2 months lost of shooting this fall.. that makes me mad too. anyways she said all we are going to do is fix it.. take it or leave it. i said that is not write and I do not accept this offer. she said well you are not getting a new camera so when you decide you want it fixt give us a call no sorry we are idiots or anything. just to bad so sad type atitude and pretty much a kick in the face..

so i am so upset with the way Canon treats their customers and their equipment. its so wrong and eresponsible on their part and they just don't car.

they even did a number on my 24-70mm lens..

well now my delema is i will never send a camera or lens into canon for repair and i really don't want to give them my money.. I like their Camera's and lens lineup.

so I'd like to switch to Nikon because Canon is just gready and ignorant.

the D700 looks extreamly tempting, but nikons lens lineup isnt very good IMO.

      so what should i do?

      thanks for your time,

      JOel
