colors are great but I dont think its hdr.

Thanks everyone. This isn't a true HDR. It's been tone mapped using the Photomatix plug-in for CS2. It gives the photo an HDR look.

I really like the HDR qualities of this. I don't think it is an HDR although I see the photomatix tag. Great angle and how empty this intersection is ... where is this?

The subject appears to be the man, though he is horribly captured with lots of noise and blotchiness on his suit. I like the colors of the image and how it's touching on the HDR effect, but I don't care much unless I can enjoy the details, and that's where you lost me.

    Thanks everyone.

It's not an HDR. It's been tone mapped with the Photomatix plug in for CS2. The plug-in gives it an HDR look. If it were a true HDR I would put in an HDR tag.

Digital limit - you're right of course. The noise is a side effect of the tone mapping.

Hi, nice shot. Do you have the original, non-HDR version of this on flickr? I like to photo, but it gets too much HDRy on flickr for me. But maybe I jsut have to learn it to get addicted, too.

chriag1774, HDR is for High Dynamic Range. As far as I understand it, you take several pictures (3?) of the same object with different exposure times. And then you use a program to merge the pictures together, so that for example foreground, background and sky get on the photo as if exposure was chosen for them.
I guess you can do the exposing on your PC, otherwise it would be amazing how little fuzzy these HDR pictures are. But then again, in many comments to the photos I saw, it sounded like they took several pictures.
Wikipedia will probably tell you whether you need to take several pictures.

Surreal colour. You've managed to add life to a normally cluttered and uninteresting subject

Wonderful and brilliant colours, very neat.

Really nice pic. Well of course it's a non-HDR pick. I don't think you can have real HDR with moving objects or people, since the different pix would be different.

Good jobe on the tone-mapping! It gives a cartoony aspect to the picture. Especially like how the DHL van stands out.

nice shot - would be great if you could post this picture to DHL Worldwide ;-) thx roland
