Stranger #2 - Rosie
After my first stranger, everything looked much easier. Fears out. I walked to Covent Garden and looked for my stranger #2. I spent there around half an hour with lots of people coming and going, but I didn't find what I was looking for (nothing too specific though, it just had to catch my eye).
I approached an Asian guy with a gorgeous hat, but he told me very politely that he was in a rush as his teacher was waiting for him. I continued walking through the streets around when I spotted a funny situation. A girl with huge nerdy glasses dropped some books and folders while another girl was filming it. I didn't hesitate and asked her for a picture.
I explained the 100 Strangers project to Rosie, it was so obvious why I wanted her in it. She accepted immediately and she told me she was filming a video about stereotypes (she performed a nerd role) for a project. She is studying something related with audiovisual stuff (do not remember the exact title she told me). I would have loved talking more with Rosie and her friends, but I felt that I was interrupting their filming, so after taking some pictures of her, I thanked and left.
I know that it is unforgivable that I did not capture that gorgeous bow tie or her beautiful smile in this picture, but if one word can describe the encounter, I think that is embarrassment, on both parts. I felt so out of my comfort zone approaching strangers and asking them for pictures; and I guess that everybody feels out of their comfort zone dressed like that :)
Anyway, I love the expression of her face in this one.
Thank you very much Rosie for being my #2 stranger. Hope you like the picture.
