"Blue Hues"

The Shot

This is the first, time, that I publish this shot. Taken about 2 years in the Grand Canyon region. The mist settling between the mountain tops of the Grand Canyon, dominated by wonderful blue hues. This is the result of extensive research in advance and planning my available time wisely to get the shot I wanted.

A big thank you for all my new G+ and Flickr followers. The numbers have increased significantly over the past few weeks and part of it, is simply that I am a lot more active. Thanks for your inspiration and wonderful words.

To give a short update on my progress of the move from Aperture 3 to Lightroom 4. I have no imported all photos from Aperture starting in 2008 to 2012. Wow! All images from 2012 were completely reprocessed in Lightroom, with the exact same settings - luckily I was still behind on my processing, that it wasn't actually too much. All prior photos were imported as the original RAW file without any editing. To not re-edit all prior photos I settled on the following solution. I exported my whole portfolio as TIFF files and imported them into Aperture. The file increased dramatically compared to NEF but it was worth it. I kept all my adjustments, etc from Aperture and have a high-quality uncompressed TIFF file for all portfolio items and don't mind that it takes up the additional disk space. Actually disk space is cheap compared with the amount of time, I would have to put into re-processing and editing all other portfolio items.

- Still working on a re-design of the blog page only on my website The rest is pretty much finished for now, with new shots being added on a regular basis. I am thankful and open for any ideas that you might have.

- I invested quite some time in G+ recently and don't regret it. It also caused me to spend less time on Flickr. To all my #flickr friends - sorry, I will post there as well, but probably not as regular as here. Same goes for my FB account and profile. I have opened it to subscribers recently but it is not my main focus.
