Somewhere between Arizona and Utah...

This must have been somewhere between AZ and UT. I remember us leaving Mexican Hat, where we stayed for the night. Almost a ghost town with a couple Motels and a gas station left. We stayed at the Mexican Hat Lodge & Swinging Steak. Well, the steak was the worst I've ever had and probably also the most expensive. For one of us to eat, the other one had to use the menu to get rid of a gazillion flies. But those are the kind of memories, that stick to your mind and those turn out to the be truly funny moments, that make a road trip a road trip I guess.
The landscape around this area is amazing and I feel that only very few people actually travel through here. Most take the short take at Lake Powell and don't bother to drive all the way around it to get the Capital Reef National Park.
The shot was taken with a Nikon D60, hand-held and manual exposure mode. Post processing in Aperture as always. There is no mystery about taking good photos - being at the right spot at the right time is still the most important thing.
