Well, although I am not a fan of this sky tone - which is very distracting for me - and I don't like the frame because of the created rough cuts I find there's something special inside your picture. Perhaps it's the contrast of the reader and the unexpected background ? Perhaps it's the peaceful scenery ? Hm, I go for a small yes here.

I am generally happy with the composition,I like the way the Reader is on the left reading across the image, but I just think the quality lets the image down, it is underexposed in the body, and the jacket has no detail, the sky, although I know you cannot do a lot with it is dull, just plain, for me this image would have been far more suited to a BW conversion, with no frame.
I do feel it is a hard shot to control, and you have done well with the condition, but I am sorry I still think it is a no for the main pool

I really like the guy and the foreground, but the backround doesn't quite seem to fit. Perhaps it is to detailed and a different DOF used would have been better to blur some of it out. I really like the placement of the guy in the frame tho he just gets overpowered by the backround.
Sorry a no from me for the main pool.

      Hi Luana,
there are some technical issues in this picture, no question. Maybe you have to control your camera settings?
But I like the peaceful scene here, the concentration from this guy.
What is he reading, what does he think?
Small "Yes" for the pool. One Juror to come, good luck!

Although I like the sharpness of the reader in the foreground, the background is dull - I think what's throwing me off is the white sky. But even the green foliage in the foreground lacks the color I would have liked to see. The composition is ok, but overall lacks the "wow" factor I am looking for. It's a small no for me.

Davvero una bella foto, e peraltro il posto è assai assai adatto alla lettura. Sembra quasi un'immagine promozionale per la zona

Hi, It's a great image - a classic. We run a new online forum called THRESHOLDS, a University of Chichester (UK) site for readers and writers of short stories: www.chiuni.ac.uk/shortstoryforum.

We'd love to be able to include this shot in our reserve of images for possible use at some point in the changing banner of the site. We're an academic site so cannot offer a fee, but our membership spans 5 continents and, in the last 2 weeks for example, we've had over a 1,000 visitors - so there's the exposure potential and a photo credit of course. If you're interested, please email us at thresholds@chi.ac.uk with the subject of MY FLICKR PHOTO.

If you can provide it, the JPG image size we need for the banners is 600 x 240 pixels, which we know is an odd size. If that can be emailed to the above address, terrific! We're very grateful.

If the right size isn't available, our design team requests that a larger image is provided so that they can then be (sensitively!) cropped, re-sized or photo-edited to fit our banner.

      Hope to hear from you!
