My 10 Unforgettable Instants in London Watersides:
1. Leg O’Mutton (Lonsdale Road) Nature Reserve
Today I started my WWF Polaroid mission. It’s called: My 10 Unforgettable Instants in London Watersides. WWF UK has contacted me a few days ago asking for my contribution towards their new campaign The Waterside Challenge. And because I am a polaroider and self-assumed tree hugger I immediately said yes. For this mission I visited 10 different waterside locations in London and took one Polaroid du Jour on each of them. During these 10 days (September 2-11) I’ve seen some of the most beautiful nature spots in London and had an amazing time reconnecting to nature without leaving the busy city.
The first nature park I visited was Leg O’Mutton: a Thames path between Barnes bridge and Hammersmith bridge. Coming off the station, from the street I had no idea that behind those gates and tall bushes there was a huge watery nature reserve, with a large river, birds and ducks. It was like seeing an oasis hidden behind trees, right in the middle of our capital. Everything was quiet and serene while my friend fed the ducks and I took my first Polaroid. Click. Thrrruuulll. Beautiful!
