I was telling my wife how I have a fear of drainage inlets on the streets. I am always afraid I will drop something down the drain and I won't be able to get it back. Also have the same issue with elevators, you know the gap between the elevator and the floor you are on. I am always afraid I will drop something down there. Turns out my wife has a fear of escalators. Not all of it, just the part at the end. She is always afraid something she is wearing will get stuck there and she will get pulled down.

Oh my goodness, I'm scared of escalators too! What's really strange is that I'm not scared to get on one that is going up, but getting on one that is going down makes me nervous. I get kinda panicky, and feel dizzy, like I can't get my footing. At one time, I had actually kinda conquered my fear of escalators, and was even able to get on them. Now, for some reason, I've reverted back to my fear of them, and will not even get on an escalator that is going down. This frustrates me, but what can I do? I don't know what I can do to remedy the situation.
