Celebrate LGBT Films with a Free Screening of 'Shelter,' Reunion of Cast and Crew, Sat. April 17

It was called "an instant classic" when it was released in 2008 and the SAG National LGBT Actors Committee is pleased to be able to present a screening of Shelter for free to SAG members, along with a Q&A reunion of its cast and crew on Saturday, April 17 at SAG Headquarters.

The event will commemorate the many advancements made in LGBT films in recent years and is presented in association with SAG New Media signatory

A GLAAD Media Award-winning film, Shelter is an iconic love story set in the world of surfing in Southern California; a tender and touching tale of awakening love that asks the viewer "How do you define what family means to you?" Shelter boasts multiple award-winning performances which bring to life an outstanding script by its visionary writer/director, Jonah Markowitz.

Panelists for the Q&A will include the writer/director of the film, the star of the film, Brad Rowe, as well as others from the cast and crew who will share their memories of making the film. Additional topics of discussion will include the state of LGBT cinema and casting LGBT actors.
