346*/365 :: Photography doesn't end when you pressing the button
Premier Loft, Studio M Hotel, Singapore
As the Pros always said, "Shoot more and edit less..." which i find the fact is truthfully right. However, not always, "almost" i have to emphasis that, NOT every shot we got it ideal the way we wanted. Just that you are pros doesn't mean that you get every shot right at all times, there are times still struggling with it, never give up and keep experience till get the ideal one. Irregardless in angle, composition, settings, light sources and etc.
Oftentimes, it is the issue been burning especially when i have ideal shots but the camera setting were wrong, due to time constraint, that's the only angle. (I am not a pro) Now the question is, how am i suppose to save this shot? The answer is photoshop... Don't get me wrong, some folks very sensitive about the word, "photoshop". They think that those shots after edited will not produce its origins anymore. The way i look at it, it is different.
First off, i don't call it edit, the more accurate word to describe is processing. The same methodologies applied the old days in the dark room, the cycle never change. Photography doesn't end when you pressing the button/shuttle, it just beginning that you capture the moment. Now you need to make that moment and take it to the next level, take it to the next step and make that picture even better, that's where photo processing kicks in. With big help from photoshop, we are able to adjust ideal exposure, brightness, contrast as basic. Additional mood processing will be scores higher than just a flat photo. That's what triggered my big interests.
I still do get fascinating about lighting, regardless Available or Guerilla Lighting, still a huge and wide knowledge to study and experience about. The cost of gears to produce Guerilla Lighting is way expensive, I personally feel it still worth to make investment on these to produce the quality moment when you face available light source is insufficient.
P/s : This is new Camera Raw v6 editing, CS5 parts can be seen in the commentary too.
