OH That's Spectacular. I see the 60 2.8, is that the D or the new one?

thanks! It's the new AFS version. I was having CA issues with the old one, so I went for the PC85 tilt shift; not enough magnification lead to the 105VR; LoCA meant a swap for the Zeiss 2/100 Makro-Planar; and finally I'm back to the 60/2.8 AFS after trying out the new version and finding it has the lowest CA and LoCA of any macro I've tried so far. I hear the Coastal Optics 60mm is even better, but the price is truly frightening.

Thanks for your comments. I was just getting interested in getting a D. The price has dropped about 30% recently, but I agree that the newer optics are better, especially for digital, than the older coatings. I have seen a great deal of CA with some canon lenses on the EP3, and the rule is the older the coatings, the worse the CA. Have a great week

No problem. I'd stump up the extra for the G; the optical design is clearly better (sharper, better micro contrast). Color, CA and flare performance are also much better thanks to the nano coating. I've tried the G on my EPM1 and it does pretty well actually. Not a combination I'd want to use on a regular basis though, it's a bit unwieldy.
