yep, definitely in love with it.

Great product shot - did you soften it a little in post?

Thank you. Nope, not softened at all in post - all done controlling the lighting with my softbox setup (think it's two shots earlier in my photostream).

This might be one of the best macro shots I've seen in ... well, ever. Do you trigger everything with cables, CLS, or another wireless system?

    4. mingthein 97 months ago | reply

      Shot using this setup: www.flickr.com/photos/mingthein/450393295/

Triggered by an SB800 and CLS on a D200, with SB600s inside my homemade softboxes.

If you like my macro shots check out my 'tres haute horologie' set too...lighting those things is even harder - they're 1/10th the size!

Great shot. That Lumix is a great point and shoot. I still take mine everywhere I go in case using my Pentax is inconvenient. I wish I could afford a Lumix SLR. Nice lighting and color by the way.

Thanks Steve. It's the first Lumix I've been really happy with - happy with to the point that I've not used my Nikons seriously since I've gotten it. Ironically the only time I used my D200 was to take that shot of the TZ3...=P

The Lumix L1 was to me, a large dissapointment. I had one as a review sample for my magazine shortly before its release, and had enough minor annoyances (strap lug in the middle of the hand grip, anybody?) and marginal image quality for something that expensive to make it very not worth it. For the same price you can get a D200 and 17-55/2.8 - and I know which I'd rather have.

LOL - if that were the case, I'd get one of those Nikon 1200-1700/5.6 zooms :)
