My Duodenum

    Newer Older

A picture of my duodenum. posted here three hours after it was taken with a laproscope (a fribre optic down the throat) at the Royal Free Hospital, London by Dr Keshav. Fortunately there's nothing serious causing my heartburn (acid reflux) but I though it was a rather pretty structure. It wasn't a pleasant procedure but the team were all very nice, my thanks to them (inc. nurses Sanja Korola and Linda Jackson). Scanned from a very small digital print. OnAlienCinema has discussed my digestion in his ZD Net diary.

You calling Mindspigot an exotic flower?

The worst thing is, it's currently the first entry on my list of contacts' postings, so I'm seeing it every time I log on.

I'm just waiting for the screams of horror fromt the pink pools which are full of pretty roses and the like.

I'm normally really squeamish but this doesn't seem gross at all to me.
Not sure about pretty, but maybe if you could get them to increase the saturation a bit and move the color temperature up, decrease the highlights, deepen the shadows....
Maybe it's your pesky contacts in Flickr that are giving you heartburn. ;)

The thumbnail did look interesting, and then this. I think I'll avoid the larger sizes...

Wow. Lucky you had it done now. Hubby starts work there in a couple of weeks and may well be doing some endoscopy :)

Hope you are doing well and are feeling OK.

Monkey Magic, I think your he's made a good choice, the staff in that department all seemed cheerful and caring. Best of luck to him (and you).

I think Grebo's comming for you, I belive he has to convince two doctors, don't worry I'll try and persuade them. Your fabulously sane Blog should do the trick.

That's brilliant. Nice duodenum BTW (now there's a phrase I never thought I'd say!).

I am so glad you posted this. As a doctor who's seen lots of these, I've always wondered if I was the only one who found the small intestine "pretty", as you well put it....much nicer than the other end anyway...!

I thought *I* was the only one who scanned in their laproscopic images? My before & after are not nearly as pretty as yours - I think my doctor did not have quite the feel for aesthetics that yours obviously did.. Cheers!
